I knew the gal that choreographed this dance when the song came out, I believe back in the late 80s or early 90s. Her name was Merrilynn and she was a regular teacher at a midtown bar in the middle of Stamford, Connecticut. Shortly after that she got married and moved to Texas. I wish I could remember her last name. Anyway the regular dancers at this bar modified the dance at the beginning after the toe swivel to the right the left toe would go right and the right heel would go right at the same time and then the right toe would go right and the left heel would go right. and then the same thing back to the left. We also put our hands into it at the same time, hands facing forward(fingers spread) and rotating the hands left and right, while moving to the right and to the left. When your doing the step you look boo legged like you just got off of a horse but the effect was beautiful. I also noticed in the film the teacher is teaching to step forward and touch, it goes a lot smoother when you do a hitch and looks better too.
