It's amazing enough that there were still so many hits in Strait's canon after the 50 Number Ones collection that presaged this anthology. But it's even more remarkable how much territory 22 More Hits covers, both chronologically and stylistically. The distance traveled between 1981’s hardcore honky-tonking “Unwound” and 2007’s orchestrated, pop-savvy “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls” leaves no question that this country legend is a tireless sound adventurer.
