Any professional musicians out there who can explain why this is not a waltz.
I looked up the sheet music on line and found a few sites showing time signature as 3/4. (Original version of the song though)
Just curious about the growing trend of choreographers using 1&a count for music which sounds and feels like a waltz. (e.g. Girl Crush)

Beautiful dance performance for me to watch - you gentlemen are remarkable!

Hi EdPro
Hope I'm not out of my depth here.Did anyone answer you about choreography of this dance.Well my thoughts, are yes this track is a waltz done in 3/4 time but using rolling count gives the steps more of an edge, not so boring .I wouldn't say a growing trend of choreographers are now writing with rolling count, just pretty brilliant and tallented ones. This is a considered teach for me I personally
would love to add this one to our repertoire. But I trust my experienced dancers to vote this in or not. I teach and give guidance too whats okay and whats brilliant, my dancer have the last say.

Thanks Stokies, I know a little about rolling counts having researched it on the internet. Not sure it should be used on 3/4 time signatures though.
