Violet and Bill Ray have taught dance professionally for more than 25 years, including line dance, couples dance and swing dance. They are certified as dance instructors and judges by both Country Western Dance International and the American Traditional Dance Association. They have taught at many venues in Las Vegas and in Hilo, Hawaii, on cruises and at more than 100 dance workshops and seminars in the United States, Canada and England. They have served as event directors of the Desert Sands Dance Festival (Bill) and the Neon Country Dance Festival (Violet and Bill) in Las Vegas. Violet has served as director and choreographer of dance teams in Las Vegas and Hawaii. Together and individually, they have choreographed more than 110 line dances, including Ooh Poo Pah Doo, Huli Huli Chicken and Blue Bayou Dreams. They moved to The Villages, Florida in 2008.
Bill Ray has choreographed 48 dances, of which 10 have been co-choreographed. Their first published stepsheet on CopperKnob is Let The Story Be Told from October 2007, with their most recent stepsheet of Hung Up in August 2008.
